BRIMSTONE Irish Wolfhounds - temperament, type & quality
About Us
We are Laurie and Loren Morris.  We are fairly new residents of Aiken County, South Carolina near the Georgia border.  Both of us were born and raised in Minnesota where we married and raised our
family in a lovely rural setting not far from the city of Saint Paul.

We have lived with and loved Irish Wolfhounds since 1982.   Our first Irish Wolfhound, a puppy named  Kane joined the family when our children were young.   He loved lure coursing as did our entire family.  Another wolfhound puppy joined our family a year later.  They both became  Lure Coursing Field Champions and enjoyed basic obedience with us.   Wolfhounds were everything we thought they would be.  They are wonderful pets and friends with sweet faces,  kind temperaments and an ancient soul.

In 1985 our first show quality Irish Wolfhound  puppy arrived and the passion began.  With the help of excellent mentors and their well bred hounds, Laurie's understanding  and knowledge of this wonderful breed grew.  The first litter of puppies was born at Brimstone in 1990.  Their dam and our foundation bitch was the beautiful Witchesbroom Notorious bred by Ms Sorcha Wilde, Witchesbroom Kennels of England.  Ms Wilde had been a friend and protege of Mrs Florence Nagle, the grand dame of wolfhounds famous Sulhamstead Kennels in the UK.
I was honored to be trusted with this lovely young bitch and to become a life long friend and student of Ms Wilde.

From our first litter of puppies has descended a line of powerful and beautiful hounds that have done well on the lure coursing field and  have excelled in conformation at many Irish Wolfhound Specialty shows around the country under breeder judges.
Most notable of our hounds is Multi-Best in Specialty Show Am/Can CH Brimstone Briagh who won Best of Breed at the Irish Wolfhound Club of America National Specialty in 2000 as well as several other Best in Specialty wins.

Before a bitch is bred at Brimstone, we research pedigrees to find the mate that will contribute as many positive qualities as possible to our gene pool.  We never breed a litter of puppies unless our intent is to keep one or more of them to move forward to the future with.
